About the Patient Participation Group

We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.

To help us with this, we are setting up a virtual patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will consult you on which areas of our service you would like to focus and and ask you to complete a survey based on these areas. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.

Interested in joining?

If you are interested in joining our Patient Reference Group, please complete our secure online form below and an Officer of the Group will get back to you as soon as possible. If we have reach capacity for the PPG group your interested will be recorded for the future.

Attendees

  • JH,KK,MS,MB,MB,LL

Minutes of the last meeting

  • The minutes were accepted as a true reflection of the meeting held on 8/1/26
  • LM to continue to investigate potential PPG/Patient meeting perhaps tieing it in with a PLT meeting
  • MS & GA to discuss notice Boards/Reception screens

Discussion Items

The discussion items have been driven by responses to the PPG email/text to the TMG patients

Action: Next tranche of emails to be sent

  • A request for a clock in the waiting room is not possible
  • A request for a walk in policy would not be practible as patients may have to wait for hours for an appointment
  • Could patients be advised of test results and communications from Hospitals and Specialists. The surgery receives 500/600 patient documents a day which makes this impractical. Also documents tend not to be added to patient records until a doctor has spoken to the patient
  • Several patients have requested that the music in the waiting room be removed and the patient call to their appointment room to be made louder

Action: MS to investigate music and call sound volume

  • Several patients requested the re-installment of online bookings. Unfortunately this is not possible
  • Patients requested an upgrade to the Surgery WIFi

Action: MS to investigate

  • Is there a way to sign in to appointments on arrival by phone. There is a QR code that can be scanned and will now be more prominent
  • There have been two approaches from patients to join the PPG

AoB

  • There was no items of AOB to be discussed
